North Beacon Oyster opened in downtown Rockland in 2018. We have a large selection of locally sourced oysters, meats and seafoods. We offer a daily Happy Hour from 4:30-5:30. In addition to our current menu we create daily specials.

Chef Mike has used his experiences working in some of Maine’s best restaurants to create North Beacon Oyster. We use local products as often as possible. With an ever changing selection of locally sourced oysters.
The dining room features local artists and photos of friends and family. We offer a rotating draft list with many local beers. Wines and cocktails are available as well. Our staff creates an exciting and seasonal specialty cocktail list.
Meet THE Chef
EXECUTIVE CHEF & OWNER
Wanting to just play baseball as a kid, Mike grew up helping his mom with her restaurant and catering business. Not realizing at the time, while emptying trash and cleaning grease traps, that the restaurant business was meant for him. In 2005 he moved to Portland, ME where he gained experience in Portland’s growing restaurant scene under some of Maine’s top chefs. He moved to the Mid-Coast area in 2013 with his partner Amber to get out of the city and embrace a slower pace of life. In 2015 he opened Drift Inn Canteen (formerly Yardbird Canteen) in Port Clyde, ME. After four successful seasons and winning Downeast Magazine’s award for best fried seafood in Maine, Mike decided to open a year round restaurant. He was approached by a landlord in Rockland who had an empty space. After a few months of deliberation, North Beacon Oyster was born. North Beacon Oyster opened in May 2018. The name comes from the street Mike grew up on in Hartford, CT. Someday, Mike will open a pizza place.
